Our group was formed in April 1997 with only five primary school players and within a month, our group has attracted considerable number of neighbourhood kids . Today, we have about 70 players ranging from the age 6 to 18 years old with majority of them below the age of 12.

30th March,, 2005

Reported by Azlan:

All about last Sunday tourney. I can say that everything went on well.

Weather in morning is very bright and sunny. I believe someone must have tried to stop the rain by pouring red chili on the field the day before the game.

All the boys enjoyed themselves althought some can't make it to semi final.

All coaches and parents presents also enjoyed the carnival atmosphere.

The tournament was well organised as compared to last year.

Both Swifts and Falcons teams in group X reached the final & Hawks from group Z made it to the semi.

Swifts, lead by Hanafi, showed plenty of fighting spirit in the semii final match against Nee Soon A. Swifts qualified for the semi final by beating the opponent 5 goals to 2.

The final was between Swift & Falcon lead by Nazri. The atmosphere in the final was fantastic with many spectators surrounding the picth and parents shouting & and cheering both teams. Swifts lead by 1 gol in the first half. In the second half, Falcons equalised. At the end of the regular time played, the score read 1 -1. In the penalty shootout, Swifts emerged champion after the 8th kick by Haiqal of Falcons went wide.

In the open category which started inthe afternoon, two visible overgae (veteran) players are visible. Majority of the open category players are between the age of 20-30. Our Daddies team lost 4 matches and draw 1 macth in their group. The veteran team clearly lack of stamina! The Daddies have to train harder for next year torunament!

Email from Haziq's mother, Faridah:

Yesterday was the most enjoyable day. We were having great fun but still wish you and Bee Choo were there when the Swift (Fariq, Sufiyanto, Hanafi, Rohan, Khidir and Luqman) lift up the Champion Trophy.

My son's team, the Falcons
(Haziq, Gavin, Nazri, Haikel, Shayen n Shafiq) wins the Silver (Runners up). I'm very proud of my son, He scored a total of 7 gols. He also scored and equalizer in the final over the Swifts to bring the game to spot kick. Good isn't it?

As for the Daddies, they are still not so cool yet. Must give them more tough training. In all five matches the daddies lost.. They only manage to score 1 gol.

Email from Nana:

I hope you can forget about football for awhile and spent your time well in USA.

the tournament went well. The boys really fight for it. The Swifts emerged champion and the Falcons finished runners up. For the daddies I guess they need more games. I can see that they are the up and coming champion under the veteran category.. ha.. ha..

.........................................

Hi to all parents and coaches of BYUSC. You guys must be saying why bother updating the website and that I should be enjoying my holiday here with Bee Choo instead. Well....I do missed all the carnival atmostphere you folks were enjoying on Sunday. Well at least with the technology we have, there is no boundary as to where and when you choose to update the website.

Thanks to all especially Azlan and all parents and coaches involved in taking care of the 24 under 12 boys who took part in this tournament.

I promised, I will put away all these electonic gadgets and hit the freeway again on my route to San Francisco from LA tomorrow morning.
